Dr. Diane Johnson (she/her/hers) considers herself “pract-academic,” balancing between a practitioner in the field and an academic studying in the field. Having two minds – one grounded in practice, the other in theory – she is able to provide an extremely broad perspective integrating strategy, analysis, program design, evaluation and execution

Dr. Johnson has more than 28 years of experience in the business, in both public and social sectors, having worked with more than 11K leaders and organizations throughout her career. The multitude of roles include practitioner, program director, project administrator, manager, researcher, trainer and technical assistance provider, resource developer, communications specialist and program evaluator. Dr. Johnson is CEO and Founder of Mmapeu Management Consulting. Mmapeu is a South African name that means “woman who carries ideas.”

Dr. Johnson holds a Master of Divinity from the Pacific School of Religion; a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Tufts University (including coursework at Harvard, Boston College and UMass/Amherst); a Masters in Science in Nonprofit Management from The New School; and a Bachelor’s in Communication with a Minor in Marketing from the University of Pennsylvania – Annenberg School of Communications and the Wharton School.
